An LED backlit touch sensor array for use in interactive presentation applications, allowing a user to navigate and interact with information presented on a PC display by touching the "virtual" buttons on an acrylic panel, which may be operated through glass, such as in a shop window.

Features Custom button layouts Artwork may be screen printed directly onto front of panel, inkjet/laser printed on a separate clear or opaque film, or integrated within the panel itself by printing onto the back of the panel before the white diffuser coat is applied. No moving parts to wear out or easily break. Maintenance free white LED illumination provides a pleasing glow and eye-catching display, whilst remaining cool running and energy efficient. Various panel sizes are possible depending on requirements of application.
Interfaces to PC through standard serial port (RS-232). RJ-45 port on board, and RJ-45 to 9way D-Type adaptor allow common networking patch cable or 8way flat cable to be used. Depending on quality of cable, the touch panel may be situated a considerable distance from the PC base unit.
Customised button layout can easily be produced, but method used and cost will depend on projected quantities required. Will work through most single glazed windows up to at least 10mm thick. Works on some double glazed winows depending on individual circumstances. Sensitivity may be adjusted through software control by sending simple commands to the panel via the serial port.
