A 5 button touch sensor array for use in interactive presentation applications, allowing a user to navigate and interact with information presented on a PC display by touching the "virtual" buttons on an acrylic panel, which may even be mounted behind glass, such as in a shop window.
Features Fixed array of 5 buttons on a single printed circuit board. May be back-lit using LED illuminated Acrylic panel - see Backlit Touchpanel Available as a basic board assembly for integration into OEM product. Affixes to rear of printed acrylic (or other suitable material) panels to produce vandal resistant HID (human interface device). No moving parts to wear out or easily break. Low cost standard design, suitable for most applications. Customised button layout can be produced by special request (additional tooling costs may mean this option is only cost effective for quantity orders - contact sales for pricing). Interfaces to PC through standard serial port (RS-232). Low power consumption, power for array derived from PC port. RJ-45 port on board, and RJ-45 to 9way D-Type adaptor allow common networking patch cable or 8way flat cable to be used. Depending on quality of cable, the touch panel may be situated a considerable distance from the PC base unit. Will work through most single glazed windows up to at least 10mm thick. Works on some double glazed winows depending on individual circumstances. Sensitivity may be adjusted through software control by sending simple commands to the panel via the serial port.
